New training method

Since I want to get back into running and riding ultras, I have been researching different training methods. I have always fallen into the faster/harder training mentality, even though in my heart for what I enjoy and want to achieve it was not right. A long time ultrarunner, Joe Pero had a post a few years ago about low HR training that I found today, which I feel is the way to go for the mere human endurance athletes. He has been using this for years and has some very strong finishes at races like Hardrock and Bear, so he must be on to something, so I figured why not try it.
